Once again I can report that we have had a successful year. We ran two courses during 2008 and held one fund raising event.

We have been fortunate to receive funding once more for the educational courses this year and the first will begin on April 22^nd. Jan Smith has organized the speakers. All we need now are the names of the Carers who wish to attend.

Our fund raising this last year was Barbara’s Strawberry Tea and once again we were able to double the profits by receiving £750.00 from Barclays Bank.

You may remember that we had been left money in a will amounting to around £3500.00. To date we have not received this sum as there was a slight dispute regarding the wording of one of the beneficiaries, hopefully we will receive this money soon.

Sadly several of our Carers lost their loved ones and we all hope that they are coming to terms with their loss, I know it is hard but remember you have lots of friends here.

We had a change of venue for the Christmas Lunch and after the last meeting of the course we went to The Bear Cross Hotel. They did us proud and I think I am right in saying we all enjoyed the meal and the company. Our Raffle was a great success as always with some good donations. Thank you.

All that remains is for me to say thank you to your committee for their hard work in making sure that everything is set up for our meetings and a thank you to our kitchen maid Margaret, who is not on the committee. Also thank you to you all for attending the meetings and supporting one another in your own way.
