The Blue Pool

On the rainiest day for some time 19 of us turned up at The Blue Pool. Undaunted by the rain one or two of our party set off and walked around the pool. I hasten to add I was not one of them.

The pool itself was very green when we visited as it was so wet but apparently it changes colour with the weather, they say that there are no fish in it and as it has many chemicals from the clay it is unsafe to bathe in it.

If you have not been to The Blue Pool on a nice day it is well worth the visit. There is a small “Museum” which gives you the history of how it came about and there are some fine examples of clay pipes on display.

Most of the ladies found themselves in the very well laid out gift shop and had the pleasure of spending some money, perhaps on a few Christmas presents or just indulging themselves.

We then went in to the tea rooms and had a very nice Strawberry Tea, lots of jam and oodles of thick clotted cream washed down with a very good pot of tea. Even though it was so wet we all enjoyed socializing including the three cared for men who also came along.

We must try once again to have an outing perhaps in the Spring, even though we are unable to count on the weather then.
